Browns fans are best? Cowboys fans are overrated frontrunners?

Virtually every NFL fanbase thinks it is the most enthusiastically passionate, knowledgeable, authentic and best-looking of all the NFL fanbases.

Virtually every NFL fanbase thinks the fanbase of its rivals are obnoxious, miserable and just the absolute worst.

Paste BN Sports' Mike Freeman is here to throw cold water on the fanbases of most NFL teams (unless you're a fan of the Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers or Pittsburgh Steelers, then you're the best … congrats!).

However, how about the Dallas Cowboys? "Massively overrated, massive front-runners," Freeman writes of America's so-called Team1.

Las Vegas Raiders? "Some of the most dedicated fans in all of sports."

New England Patriots? "When Brady left, he took a lot of the fan energy with him." (Fans of a certain age who root for other teams will recall that Patriots fandom was a giant nothing burger before the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era2.)

New York Jets? "Jets fans are the meanest in the league, not Eagles fans."

And, lastly, the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs: "The Tomahawk Chop lands you in last place."3

What do you think? Which team(s) have the best or worst fanbases? Surely you have thoughts. Hop over to our NFL Facebook and let us know!

1 No offense, Cowboys fans, but the "America's Team" nickname is antiquated, born out of the 1970s when NFL Films came up with the nickname for the team's 1978 highlight film. The Cowboys reached their fifth Super Bowl in nine years that season. The Super Bowl for the current Cowboys is a foreign concept, as the team hasn't won one since the 1995 season, which also is the last time the Cowboys advanced to the NFC championship game. Only two other NFC teams − Detroit and Washington − have not reached the conference championship game in that timeframe.

2 To be fair, the Patriots' turnaround really started when Robert Kraft became owner of the team in 1994. The team made the playoffs that season, reached the Super Bowl two years later and started a long-running dynasty five years after that.

3 Seriously, this thing needs to stop.
