Young NFL QBs at a crossroads
Just two years ago, the San Francisco 49ers paid a heaping helping of draft capital in order to move up into the No. 3 overall spot to draft North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance.
Lance played in just eight games, making four starts, before the 49ers jettisoned him to the Dallas Cowboys for a fourth-round pick. That's not great for the 49ers, who sent three first-round picks and a third-rounder (one of those picks eventually turned into Micah Parsons!) to the Miami Dolphins in order to move up and select Lance.
The runway for success for young quarterbacks in the NFL is short. That means there are other high draft picks who could experience Lance's fate. Paste BN Sports' Nate Davis identifies seven such quarterbacks, who could be shown the door early despite lofty draft statuses.
