NFL Week 10 breakdown: Wild Sunday of last-second game-winners
Week 10 of the 2023 NFL season is (almost) in the books, and it was a wild Sunday of last-second game-winners.
Here are some of the most important developments from Sunday:
- This week featured the most game-winning scores with no time remaining in the fourth quarter in a single week in the league’s 104-season history.
- Just when you thought the Baltimore Ravens had staked a claim as the league's best team, a game like the Cleveland Browns' last-second victory happens.
- The Dallas Cowboys have been unbeatable at AT&T Stadium, having won 12 consecutive games at their home stadium.
- How bad are the New England Patriots? The 2-8 start matches the worst for Bill Belichick (also 2-8 to start in 2000). On Sunday in Frankfurt, the Patriots failed to score an offensive touchdown for the third time this season.
- The Minnesota Vikings own the NFL's longest active win streak at five games, and all five wins have come without All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
NFL Week 10 key storylines
- Winners and losers: The Jets had hopes to keep things afloat for a possible late-season playoff push, but the team is paying for its stubbornness on Zach Wilson.
- 32 things we learned: Texans QB C.J. Stroud is running away in rookie of the year race after leading his team to another dramatic victory.
- One NFL playoff contender is defying common sense with winning formula: Beauty is surely in the eye of the beholder when it comes to Mike Tomlin’s team, Jarrett Bell writes.
- How bad are things for Bill Belichick? Belichick is 2-8 for the first time since 2000, his first season as head coach of the Patriots. Where does the team go from here?
- Oft-criticized QB engineers long-awaited signature win: Deshaun Watson put together the kind of breakout performance the Browns had long been waiting for, Chris Bumbaca writes.
- Lions not quite biting kneecaps: The emergence of the Lions can be traced back to head coach Dan Campbell's now-infamous introductory press conference in January 2021.
- Star RB's record-tying TD streak comes to an end at 17 games: Christian McCaffrey could not break a tie with Hall of Famer Lenny Moore during the 49ers' win over the Jaguars.
- T.J. Watt passes J.J. Watt for most sacks in first 100 NFL games: Watt picked up his 88th career sack on Sunday, taking down Packers quarterback Jordan Love for a loss of six yards in the second quarter.
- Playoff picture: If the season ended today, which teams would make up the postseason field?
- NFL draft first-round order: Two games during Week 10 had a profound impact on the top of the draft.

NFL Week 10 results
- Las Vegas Raiders 16, New York Jets 12: The Raiders are now 2-0 under interim head coach Antonio Pierce.

- Dallas Cowboys 49, New York Giants 17: The Cowboys' 72-point margin of victory over the Giants was their largest in a sweep of an NFC East opponent, topping their 66-point edge against the Philadelphia Eagles in 1969.
- Arizona Cardinals 25, Atlanta Falcons 23: Kyler Murray's return from a knee injury sparked the Cardinals' last-second win, just the team's second victory this season.
- Detroit Lions 41, Los Angeles Chargers 38: Playing in SoFi Stadium for just the second time since being traded to the Lions, ex-Rams QB Jared Goff had a big game for division-leading Detroit.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20, Tennessee Titans 6: While the Buccaneers halted a four-game losing streak, the struggling Titans have lost for the fourth time in five games.
- Houston Texans 30, Cincinnati Bengals 27: C.J. Stroud continues to amaze, leading another last-minute game-winning drive for a Texans victory.
- Minnesota Vikings 27, New Orleans Saints 19: Joshua Dobbs continued to thrive with his new team, which has won five consecutive games.
- San Francisco 49ers 34, Jacksonville Jaguars 3: The 49ers look like Super Bowl contenders again after routing the Jaguars in Jacksonville.
- Pittsburgh Steelers 23, Green Bay Packers 19: The Steelers continue to win close games, while the Packers are a team clearly not ready to win close games.
- Cleveland Browns 33, Baltimore Ravens 31: The Ravens led 14-0 less than five minutes into the game, 24-9 early in the third quarter and 31-17 early in the fourth, but couldn't hold on.
- Indianapolis Colts 10, New England Patriots 6 (in Frankfurt, Germany): It seems there will be significant fallout for both teams after this duel in Deutschland.
- Chicago Bears 16, Carolina Panthers 13 (Thursday): This matchup of terrible teams really only will impact the 2024 NFL draft order.
