Injuries overshadow TNF showdown. Plus, Week 11 game picks and fantasy advice
Welcome to Week 11 of the 2023 NFL season, which got off to an injury-riddled start.
Previously on NFL: Baltimore Ravens 34, Cincinnati Bengals 20 — A matchup that had been billed as the most exciting “Thursday Night Football” game of the season didn’t live up to expectations for many reasons.
- Ravens can breathe easy with Lamar Jackson

Game of the week: Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs — When the 2023 NFL schedule came out to much fanfare in May, this matchup was pegged as one of the biggest games of the season. This Super Bowl 57 rematch could be a preview of Super Bowl 58. Both teams are coming off huge wins against top contenders (Chiefs over Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany; Eagles over Cowboys). Toss in the Kelce brothers and Taylor Swift subplots, and this showdown should be a real ratings-grabber for the NFL.
Sneaky-good game of the week: Minnesota Vikings at Denver Broncos — A couple or so weeks ago, suggesting that this "Sunday Night Football" matchup would be intriguing would have been considered folly. Narratives can change quickly in the NFL. Entering Week 11, the Broncos own the longest win streak in the AFC (three games) and the Vikings have the longest win streak in the NFL (five games). Relatively new Vikings QB Joshua Dobbs faces a Broncos defense that has forced nine turnovers in the past two games.
Survivor pool game of the week: Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers — The Cowboys have been running on all cylinders, having dropped 40-burgers in two of the last three weeks (a narrow Week 9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles the only blemish since getting routed by the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5). The Panthers, meanwhile, are steamrolling toward giving the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft to the Chicago Bears. Panthers QB Bryce Young — the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft — hasn't exactly enjoyed the same kind of prodigious rookie season as No. 2 pick C.J. Stroud. This could make for a fascinating re-draft exercise in the coming years. (Previous survivor pool picks — Week 1: Ravens; Week 2: 49ers; Week 3: Chiefs; Week 4: Eagles; Week 5: Dolphins; Week 6: Bills; Week 7: Seahawks; Week 8: Chargers; Week 9: Saints, Week 10: Steelers. 👍)

Quarterback Josh Allen said the Bills are "not a broken offense," despite the firing of offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey.
- Texans are a wonderful surprise: Once one of the NFL's worst franchises — on the field and off of it — the Texans are one of the league's most inspiring teams, Mike Freeman writes.
