49ers, Chiefs both chasing history in Super Bowl 58
Super Bowl Hype Week™ is finally here and the countdown is on toward kickoff for Super Bowl 58 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Four years after meeting in Super Bowl 54, the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs will square off once again. This is the fourth time in Super Bowl history that there is a head coaching rematch (Andy Reid vs. Kyle Shanahan). This is the eighth different set of teams to have a Super Bowl rematch, but the third rematch that has happened within a five-year span.
By appearing in their fourth Super Bowl in five seasons, the Chiefs are threatening to secure the pole position vacated by the New England Patriots, who spent nearly two decades as the NFL's gold standard.
Other legendary teams have held this post before: The Dallas Cowboys of the 1990s (three Super Bowl titles in four seasons), 49ers of the 1980s (four Super Bowl titles in nine seasons), Pittsburgh Steelers of the 1970s (four Super Bowl titles in six seasons), and the Green Bay Packers of the 1960s (five NFL titles in seven seasons, including winning the first two Super Bowls).
The 49ers can play spoiler to the Chiefs' modern-day "dynasty," and claim a record-tying sixth all-time Super Bowl title in the process.

Pro Bowl Games: NFC > AFC
For the second consecutive year, the NFC defeated the AFC at the reimagined Pro Bowl Games. A strong start in Thursday night's skill challenges carried over into Sunday's events for the NFC, which only needed to not lose the flag football game by too many points to win the coveted Pro Bowl Games trophy.
There was plenty to enjoy (the players definitely appeared to be having a good time) and areas that might need adjusting (have we hit a point where it's just too much Manning bros?). Paste BN Sports' Lorenzo Reyes watched the Pro Bowl Games and has the event's winners and losers.
