Super Bowl Hype Week™ is officially finally here and the countdown is on toward kickoff for Super Bowl 59 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
Two years after meeting in Super Bowl 57, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will square off once again. This is the ninth different set of teams to have a Super Bowl rematch, and the fourth rematch that has happened within a five-year span. In addition, it is the fourth quarterback rematch (with both passers representing the same teams) in Super Bowl history, with Jalen Hurts vs. Patrick Mahomes joining Terry Bradshaw vs. Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman vs. Jim Kelly and Eli Manning vs. Tom Brady.
This marks the fifth Super Bowl appearance for the Eagles, who have won one Lombardi Trophy. That triumph came in Super Bowl 52, when the Eagles edged the New England Patriots in a thriller. That victory represented the Eagles' first championship since the 1960 season, which – of course – happened before the advent of the Super Bowl. That brings us to our next pro football history lesson.
The Chiefs are going for history in Super Bowl 59. Kansas City is coming off back-to-back Super Bowl wins, and no team has ever won three straight Super Bowls. Teams have played in three straight – Miami Dolphins (Super Bowls 6-8), Buffalo Bills (Super Bowls 25-28) and New England Patriots (Super Bowls 51-53). If you count all-time NFL championships (including those before the Super Bowl) – which we do because it happened – then the Chiefs are attempting to match what the Green Bay Packers accomplished twice. The Packers won three straight NFL titles during the Lombardi era in 1965-67, a run that included winning the first two Super Bowls. The Packers also won three straight NFL titles from 1929-1931. A win on Sunday would give the Chiefs a fifth Lombardi Trophy, which would match the all-time hauls of the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. The New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers are tied for the most Super Bowl wins (six).

Pro Bowl Games: NFC > AFC
For the third consecutive year, the NFC defeated the AFC at the reimagined Pro Bowl Games. NFC coach Eli Manning continues his Pro Bowl Games dominance over older brother and AFC coach, Peyton Manning.
Over two days of competition, the Pro Bowl Games featured events such as The Big Spike, Helmet Harmony, Dodgeball, Tug of War and, ultimately, a flag football showdown. The NFC got off to a strong start on Thursday night, and that continued into Sunday's competitions.
