Chasing Gold: The good (Molly Seidel), the bad (coronavirus) and the awesome (shirtless Tonga guy!)

Hello, everyone, and welcome to another edition of the Chasing Gold newsletter. 

My name is Tom Schad and I'm going to be contributing to our coverage of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo this year, reporting on some of the biggest stories throughout the Games. 

In recent days, of course, the No. 1 story line has been the coronavirus outbreak:

• It's already creating chaos for the Games 
• How might it impact the Games? A Tokyo 2020 official fielded questions this week about a possible postponement.
• A test event will be held without ... athletes. 
• Leaders are taking action to curb the spread of the virus. 

While the International Olympic Committee insists that the Games will go on as scheduled, the virus continues to spread — and questions about the event persist. We'll keep you updated.
