The Olympics have been postponed. So what happens next?
The inevitable is now official.
At long last, the International Olympic Committee and Japanese government announced Tuesday that the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be postponed to the spring or summer of 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It is the first time in modern Olympic history that the Games have been postponed.
The official announcement came less than 24 hours after longtime IOC member Dick Pound told Paste BN Sports that the Games would not begin as scheduled in July.
