Uncertainty surrounds Tokyo Olympics, but athletes gearing up with less than 100 days to go
The countdown is on!
After a year of uncertainty (and months of unusual training for athletes), we've reached a significant milestone in the run-up to this summer's Tokyo Olympics: The start of the Games is now less than 100 days away.
Ralph Lauren commemorated the 100-day milestone by unveiling the uniforms that Team USA will wear during the closing ceremony. The wardrobe was made entirely in the U.S., the company said, using environmental-friendly products and processes.
"It’s always an honor to put those outfits on," said Katie Ledecky, who is partnering with Ralph Lauren and got a sneak-peek of the wardrobe. "It gives you goosebumps."
Meanwhile, organizers in Japan are continuing to prepare for the opening ceremony, slated for July 23, as the government continues to roll out COVID-19 vaccines for the Japanese public. And here in the U.S., athletes are also starting to get their shots, while Olympic trials roll on and Team USA continues to come together.
