The latest, as of 5 p.m. ET:
- Four more people have died of the coronavirus in Washington state, raising the death toll in the state and the nation to six.
- The global death count is now above 3,000.
- New York state reported its first case, a 39-year-old Manhattan woman who contracted the virus while traveling in Iran. The woman is isolated in her home with "respiratory symptoms" but is not in serious condition.
- In the United States, the number of those infected is expected to rise significantly as testing becomes more pervasive.
- Wuhan, the Chinese city at the center of the coronavirus outbreak, has shut down one of its 16 makeshift hospitals because of a steady decline in new cases.
