Coronavirus Watch: A big day for reopening among states
Many states were set to loosen restrictions Monday, while the U.S. epicenter for the virus will allow some businesses to reopen by the end of the week.

- The White House denied a report saying Vice President Mike Pence would be self-quarantining after one of his staffers tested positive for coronavirus.
- Pence and President Trump, as well as every staffer in close proximity to them, are scheduled for daily tests after the virus has moved closer to the president's inner circle.
- More than 15 states were set to move forward with reopening procedures Monday. Here's a state-by-state tracker.
- New York, the state hit hardest by the virus, is set to embark on a reopening process. A wide range of businesses will be allowed to reopen by the end of the week, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said. New York City, though, was among areas not yet ready to reopen, he said.
- The U.S. was closing in on 80,000 deaths from coronavirus, while more than 1.3 million cases have been confirmed, per data from Johns Hopkins University.
- Worldwide, more than 284,000 have died from the virus and 4.1 million cases have been confirmed.
- Shops and schools reopened across Germany and France Monday, while British Prime Minister Boris Johnson "actively encouraged" people who can't work from home to return to their jobs.
- The National Parks Service is inching towards reopening, as it tests out public access at a number of sites across the country with limited offerings and services.
- Paste BN Sports contacted the mayors of all cities home to an MLB team, asking about the potential for a return to action in July. One called it an "aggressive timetable."
- The man identified as New York's "patient zero" for coronavirus says he is back home and feeling better.
- A conference call among senators and White House advisers was scheduled for Monday about the potential for another economic stimulus plan.
- As reopening continues in many states, Americans' concerns about COVID-19 may be easing, a poll finds.
