Coronavirus Watch: Busy beaches and a viral pool party
President Donald Trump put travel restrictions on Brazil, while some Americans flocked to beaches for the holiday weekend.

- President Trump issued a proclamation on Sunday banning individuals who have been in Brazil within 14 days prior to attempting to enter the United States
- Memorial Day weekend brought Americans outside, though not everyone practiced social distancing. A bustling pool party in Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks went viral on social media, with some decrying the behavior and others praising it.
- Photos emerged of busy beaches from California to Florida as officials were tasked with enforcing social distancing measures.
- President Trump tweeted Sunday night that schools should reopen "ASAP."
- The U.S. was nearing 98,000 coronavirus deaths and 1.65 million cases, per Johns Hopkins University data.
- Worldwide, there are 5.4 million cases confirmed and 345,000 deaths.
- The World Health Organization said it is temporarily dropping hydroxychloroquine, a drug touted by Trump, from its study into experimental COVID-19 treatments.
- At least half of states are not going to meet White House’s deadline to test every nursing home resident and staff member for the coronavirus within 14 days, according to a review by the Associated Press. Some states aren't bothering to try.
- Trump participated in a brief ceremony to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Solider Monday at the Arlington National Cemetery, which remains closed to the public.
- What started as a Second Amendment rally at the Kentucky State Capitol turned into a protest of coronavirus restrictions and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear being hanged in effigy.
- Activities once viewed as mundane, like gathering for church or grabbing a burger at a local restaurant, have become subjects of a federal lawsuit. More than 1,300 state and federal lawsuits have been filed over COVID-19.
