Coronavirus Watch: Protests spark worries of outbreak
As protests flare up across the nation in response to police brutality and the death of George Floyd, health experts fear the lack of social distancing at demonstrations could lead to an increased spread of coronavirus.
The CDC maintains guidelines encouraging people to wear masks and stay at least six feet apart from others in public.
“We have two crises that are sandwiched on top of one other," said Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

- The mayor of Atlanta warned constituents they "probably need to go get a COVID test this week" if they attended protests. The merits of the protesters' cause "doesn’t prevent them from getting the virus,” said Bradley Pollock, chairman of the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of California, Davis.
- President Donald Trump pushed the G7 summit – originally scheduled for June – to at least September, according to multiple reports Saturday.
- Nearly 104,000 have died from coronavirus in the U.S., while more than 1.7 million cases have been confirmed, per Johns Hopkins University data. Keep track of the latest numbers here.
