Coronavirus Watch: Trump's testing comments draw scrutiny


President Trump came under intense scrutiny for comments made at Saturday's rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, saying he called for coronavirus tests to be slowed down since more tests lead to higher case counts.

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said on CNN Sunday that the comments were "tongue in cheek."

  • There are more than 150 efforts worldwide to develop a vaccine. Here's a look at the technology that's fueling the search.
  • While projected deaths due to suicide and addiction are rising during the pandemic, mental health and addiction treatment facilities are struggling to keep going. "Our volume of service dropped through the floor," said one health executive. "This is not elective."
  • The Arizona sheriff who tested positive for COVID-19 prior to a planned meeting with President Donald Trump still says he has no plans to wear a mask in public or enforce any future orders requiring one to do so.
  • Add this to the list of pandemic-induced shortages: pocket change. The Federal Reserve said the pandemic has caused a nationwide coin shortage.
