Coronavirus Watch: Two school districts go online-only
As cases rise in 43 states, California's two largest school districts will start the fall semester with online-only classes because of skyrocketing rates of COVID-19 infections.
The decision by Los Angeles and San Diego public schools comes in direct opposition to recent calls from President Donald Trump and Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos for schools to reopen for in-person instruction.
Will other school districts do the same?

Do you have questions about the coronavirus? You can submit them through this form, and we'll answer them. Linda from Bentley, Louisiana, asks: How do you know a person is non-contagious once they have the virus but do not get a negative test results?
If you test positive for the virus, you should isolate at home. For most people, symptoms resolve after a few weeks, but some people have been sick for months. When you can be around other people again depends on different factors for different situations, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
- If you plan on getting a test to see if you still have COVID-19, then you can be around others when you have no fever, respiratory symptoms have improved, and you receive two negative test results in a row, at least 24 hours apart.
- If you won't be having another test, you can end isolation after you have three days with no fever, your respiratory symptoms have improved and it’s been 10 days since symptoms first appeared.
