Coronavirus Watch: Louisiana pauses testing
President Donald Trump on Sunday touted plasma treatment against COVID-19, but the World Health Organization said the method is still considered an “experimental” therapy.

- There's another public safety threat afoot in Louisiana, so residents will not be able to get tested for the coronavirus on Monday or Tuesday as the state braces for the expected landfalls of Tropical Storms Marco and Laura.
- The virus also poses issues for evacuation. The same thing is happening in California as wildfires ravage the state.
- The NFL experienced a wave of false positive tests as the league preps for the upcoming season. Seventy-seven positive COVID-19 tests from 11 teams were re-examined, all of which came back negative.
- A farewell to arts? Teachers fear coronavirus budget cuts may target art and music classes.
- Numbers check: 5.7 million people have tested positive for COVID-19 and 176,000 have died in the US, per Johns Hopkins University data. Globally, 23.5 million have been infected and 809,000 have died.
