Coronavirus Watch: Where were the masks at Super Bowl 56?
As millions tuned into yesterday's Super Bowl where 70,000 people packed into SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, many were left to wonder: where were the masks?

Reporter Asha Gilbert has the rundown here on the number of maskless Super Bowl attendees despite California's indoor mask mandate.
It's Monday, and this is Coronavirus Watch from the Paste BN Network. Here's more news to know to kick off your week (no football pun intended):
- The busiest U.S.-Canada border crossing was open for traffic Monday after a week of angry protests against COVID-19 mandates that had shut down the bridge linking Detroit to Windsor, Ontario.
- The U.S. has almost reached the end of the "full blown" pandemic and could reach immunity levels sufficient to limit the spread of the virus soon, Dr. Anthony Fauci told The Financial Times this week.
- The Food and Drug Administration on Friday granted emergency use authorization for a new monoclonal antibody from pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly, a day after the Biden administration purchased 600,000 doses to address diminished treatment options.
See our COVID-19 resource guide here. See total reported cases and deaths here. On vaccinations: About 76% of people in the U.S. have received at least one vaccine shot, and about 64% are fully vaccinated, according to the CDC.
