Coronavirus Watch: Second COVID vaccine booster approved for those 50 and up
Older Americans can now receive a second booster COVID-19 shot.
The FDA and CDC on Tuesday expanded COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to allow anyone 50 or older to receive a second booster of Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna. They can get the second booster at least four months after receiving their first.
The CDC said the second shot is especially important for those 65 and older and those 50 and older with underlying medical conditions.
