Boy conquers fear of jumping off diving board with the help of cheering strangers

Sometimes, all you need to succeed is a little extra encouragement.

When a young boy stood on a diving board at Barton Springs in Austin, Texas, too nervous to jump in the pool, the whole crowd got behind him.

Sunbathers and swimmers cheered and clapped for 20 seconds, urging him on as the boy bounced tentatively up and down. Finally, there was nothing else for it, and he took the plunge.
