The queen's long road home

Britain will be able to formally mourn the death of Queen Elizabeth II as she tours the United Kingdom before reaching her final resting place. Her next moves will be watched closely throughout the world.

I'm Kim Willis, a longtime editor who has guided Paste BN's coverage of the British royals going back to Princess Diana's infamous 1995 BBC interview, keeping you updated as the news unfolds this week.

King Charles III is preparing to reunite with his mother as she makes her way back to Buckingham Palace. On Sunday, Queen Elizabeth II's flag-draped coffin arrived at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the British monarchy’s residence in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh. Mourners (and some protesters) packed city streets and lined rural roads to say goodbye to the sovereign who reigned for 70 years.

What changes with the death of Elizabeth? The name of the national anthem and the look of money, for starters. And a number of royal titles: Prince William, first in line to the throne, and his wife, Kate, are now the Prince and Princess of Wales

What doesn't: Our affection for the queen's beloved corgis
