Aging parents: Hair dye and cool shoes prove I'm not getting old
How do you feel about getting old? Our own Connie Schultz writes about what it's like to worry about hair dye and remembers having to care for her own aging mother.
She's at a crossroads between those two ideas. Getting old reminds us of those we cared for.
Trying to prove I'm not aging
I was once an adult child taking caring of aging parents. Hardest thing I’ve ever done, twice, especially because my parents were not old. My mother died at 62. I turned 63, during the pandemic, and I know I don’t need to tell you how that mattered. I’ll turn 64 in a few days, and I’m hoping to outlive the age at which my father died. For the first time in my life, I have a five-year plan.
In the meantime, I’ll keep doing those little things we aging people do to prove we aren’t.

Conservatives can fight climate change
More than 60 Republican members of Congress recently launched the Conservative Climate Caucus to provide leadership in America’s fight against climate change. All Americans who care about our country and our planet should welcome this development.
Conservatives tackling environmental challenges is in no way new.
