NRA has hobbled the ATF and turned America into a firearm bazaar
The debate over gun control has been ongoing for years and impacted by the power of the National Rifle Association. One of our columns today looks at whether President Joe Biden has the skills to tangle with the NRA while trying to get some meaningful gun control passed.
And what about inflation? How about the rash of cyberattacks or the fact that climate change continues to be a problem? We have all that covered for you today. Here we go.
NRA greed fuels homicide rates
As reports of a crime wave ripple through the news, elected officials who take cues – and campaign cash – from the National Rifle Association have been rushing to pin the blame on others. To hear these lawmakers and their media mouthpieces tell it, the rise in crime can be blamed on any number of their go-to scare tactics, including bail reform, immigration or even suburban rezoning.
But when you look at the data, two things become clear: Gun violence is driving the spike in crime, and much of that violence has been enabled by the NRA’s legislative foot soldiers, who have turned America into a free-for-all firearm bazaar.

Biden is leading America off an inflationary cliff
If the Democratic Party gets its way, the federal government will soon add more than $4.1 trillion in spending to the $1.9 trillion it authorized in March. Or, to put it another way: If the Democratic Party gets its way, the federal government will have authorized nearly 1 1 1/2 more in spending during the first eight months of Joe Biden’s presidency than it spent in all of 2019. So much for that much-vaunted return to sanity.
