Prime Day 2020: Everything you need to know
Attention all online shoppers and deal hunters, get excited. Amazon Prime Day is officially here! We’re thrilled to put our product expertise to good use with continuous coverage of the best deals from this massive savings event.
If you're interested in learning more before you shop, we’ve compiled a quick overview of everything you need to know to make the most out of Prime Day.
What is Prime Day?
Prime Day is an annual savings event hosted by Amazon exclusively for its members with some of the very best discounts you’ll see across the site all year long. You can expect everything from price drops on popular items to savings on Amazon's coveted subscription services, such as Audible Premium Plus, Amazon Music and more.
When is Prime Day 2020?
While Prime Day is usually held during peak summer months, this year’s savings event was delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The sale will now unofficially kick off the holiday shopping season, falling on Tuesday, October 13 and Wednesday, October 14.
How does Prime Day work?
In order to shop the best deals, you’ll have to sign up to become a Prime member, which costs $12.99 for a monthly subscription. But there are plenty of benefits to having a membership other than Prime Day (i.e. free two-day shipping, Prime Video), so you might want to consider getting one anyway.
If you don’t have a Prime membership, you can sign up for a free trial to take advantage of the deals—just make sure you cancel after Prime Day so you aren’t charged with any subscription fees.
