Stories of Food & Family | Why watch Storytellers Project in November
Food and Family
Nov. 16, 2021 at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET
As we prepare for the holidays, we think about time spent around the table with our families — and our favorite foods. Please join us for stories about the dishes that inspire us and the families that developed our palates.
Stories by:
- Stephanie Laska of San Francisco
- Rohini Chandra, 31, Los Angeles
- Gabrielle Shea, 41, of Brooklyn, New York
- Tracy Schuhmacher of Rochester, New York
- Melissa Soza Fees, 54, of Phoenix
Look for our story in Paste BN later this month.
Holidays
Dec. 14, 2021 at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET
The holidays can be a time of gleeful surprise, gratitude, wrapping paper disasters or family mishaps. Join us for an hour of true, first-person stories celebrating the moments that unite our communities, faiths and families. This show will feature storytellers Chris Lundy, Jasmine Crowe, Liz Warren, Sean Wellington and Denise Lopez.
Food and Family Revisited
If you missed our "Food and Family" show in 2020, set aside an hour to hear stories from chef and TV personality Rocco DiSpirito; Best Friends for Frosting blogger Melissa Johnson; Jamila Robinson, assistant managing editor of the The Philadelphia Inquirer's Food section; Arizona-based journalist Lorraine Longhi of the Copper Courier; and freelance food writer Majida Rashid. As you listen to their stories about food and family, they may just inspire your Thanksgiving table or get you excited to see your family. We would love for you to share your own food stories in our Facebook group, Storytellers Project Extended Visit. Record yourself telling your story and post your video.
Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank You for Your Service!
As we celebrate Veterans Day and pay tribute to our military members — past and present — on Nov. 11, we invite you to listen to some of their personal stories. We thank everyone for their sacrifices and service in keeping us safe and defending our democracy. Bless you!

Native American Heritage Month
November is Native American Heritage Month. As we celebrate the accomplishments, culture and contributions of Indigenous people in the United States, the Storytellers Project calls particular attention to this story by Jessie Little Doe Baird, as part of Paste BN's Women of the Century project. She is a linguist best known for her work to revive and teach Wampanoag language through the Wampanoag Language Reclamation Project.
