Was Biden ever in charge? I'm not sure.

In June 2024, I wrote a column about President Joe Biden’s obvious cognitive decline after his disastrous debate with Republican candidate Donald Trump. It was the beginning of Biden’s political end, and it ushered in Vice President Kamala Harris’ failed 2024 campaign. 

Now it appears there was even more reason for suspicion – and that Biden may have been physically and mentally unwell long before the debate.  

News broke Sunday that Biden has been diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer, which has metastasized to his bones. I wish the former president a miraculous recovery, but I do have questions for the members of his inner circle and the Democratic Party leadership about why they were not honest with Americans about the president’s decline while still in office. 

In their new book "Original Sin," journalists Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson reveal details of Biden's decline that show rampant dishonesty among Democratic leaders. The duo has appeared on various radio and TV programs to discuss the book. The details they have uncovered are damning, not just for Biden but for his family, aides and the White House press corps.

On CNN, Thompson said he learned that during Biden’s 2024 reelection campaign, Democratic leaders produced a fake town hall with the president’s supporters in Delaware. The goal was to record commercials, but the footage was unusable because Biden was too incoherent. 

On "The Megyn Kelly Show," Tapper credited conservative media with raising the alarm, even though mainstream news outlets ignored the obvious signs of the president’s struggles. “Alex and I are here to say the conservative media was right and conservative media was correct and that there should be a lot of soul-searching, not just among me, but among the legacy media to begin with, all of us, for how this was covered or not covered sufficiently 100%,” Tapper said. 

Tapper and Thompson’s bombshell book and the mainstream media and Democratic Party’s actions during the Biden campaign raise serious questions about why Americans weren’t told the truth before now. 

If Biden was so unwell that he couldn’t record a commercial in a staged setting, who led the country the past four years? It really makes me wonder.
