Everything you need going into season 8 of 'Game of Thrones'
The official two-week countdown has begun. Are you ready for the end “Game”?
No not the one with superheroes, but the one with dragons, White Walkers and more incest than we care to think about. The eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones” premieres on HBO on April 14 (9 EDT/PDT), and before then there's a lot to remember, plus fan theories to ponder, plot twists to argue about and “Winter is Coming” jokes to make.
In “Postcards from Westeros” you’ll get all that and more from me, Kelly Lawler, Paste BN’s TV Critic and “Thrones” obsessive. Over the next eight weeks, we’ll prep for Season 8 and then watch it together, analyzing every meaningful look between Jon and Dany and every flicker in the Night King’s Eye. We'll also cry quietly when our favorite characters die. During the season, check in early Monday mornings for my recaps delivered to your inbox.
In the meantime, here are some articles to get you caught up:
- Every single thing you need to remember from the first seven seasons, or how to rewatch if you want to do it yourself. (There's still time!) But not *that* much time, so...
- I've definitively ranked all 67 episodes so you can catch all the highlights.
- Just want pictures? See characters on the Iron Throne in Season 8 posters.
- "Game of Thrones" facts and figures, by the numbers, so you can impress your friends.
- Just a show? Or a phenomenon? Here's how 'GoT' became a smash hit.
- And finally, here's how the actors foreshadowed events (and sometimes got it wrong).
So come along for this journey with me, and hopefully we’ll all survive until the end. And please: Invite a friend to join us, too.
