Philadelphia inmates are participating in a harvest program that is sowing seeds of goodwill.
Through the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's City Harvest Program, inmates start vegetable seedlings. The young plants are distributed to gardens where they are grown and harvested. The harvested vegetables are donated to church food pantries.
Community members in need say they appreciate the donated fresh produce. Inmates say they are grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community.
