Equal right to Selective Service? #tellusatoday
We asked on Twitter whether women — who can now be formally assigned to combat — should have to sign up for Selective Service. Comments are edited for clarity and grammar:
I support women in combat and believe in equal rights, and part of equality is that the rules for one apply to all.
— @Alloverthemap10
I was going to say yes, then I remembered I don't believe we should have a draft. No one should have to register.
— @ScienceofGood
Either both men and women must register, or we'll have a new round of court challenges by men.
— @MaggioMatt
You can't have equality and live by different rules, can you? We all must take the bad with the good.
— @Unabanter
No. Only older women seem to want all these "amazing" freedoms. They are hurting the younger generation of women.
— @EricEckel
Women should absolutely have to register for Selective Service. Equal rights mean equal responsibility.
