Let concealed carry permits apply to all states? #telluastoday
We asked our followers on Twitter whether a permit to carry concealed weapons in one state should be valid in all others. Comments are edited for clarity and grammar:
Generally speaking, that would kind of undermine states' rights, wouldn't it?
— @jcasabona
Yes, without question. If you oppose it, don't carry a gun. It's your right. I also have rights, and protecting my family is No.1.
— @ESmith1000
A state permit to carry a gun in one state should not be transferable to another state.
— @BrentBrent1
I think there are circumstances that would warrant that. For instance, an armed courier?
— @bluecowdawg
The speed limit is 75 mph in Montana. Should Montanans be allowed to drive 75 mph in Wisconsin where the limit is 65 mph? Abide by each state's law.
— @PlumbbobGreen
My driver's license works in all 50 states; why not other licenses? It's basic reciprocity.
— @amydbirdsong
As a gun owner, I say no. Requirements for concealed weapons vary greatly from state to state; it's not like driving a car.
