School sparks debate on students, guns: #tellusatoday
Gonzaga University is reviewing its gun policy after students were put on probation for using a gun to fight off an intruder. We asked our Twitter followers if they thought guns should be allowed on campuses. Twitter comments edited for clarity and grammar.
No! College students are still young and could make split-second decisions that are not well thought through, resulting in death.

My tuition pays for the university police department. So no thanks. I'd prefer the Zimmermans stay at bay.

Gun-Free Zone signs haven't saved lives. Gun carrying permit holders have.

As long as students carry guns legally they should be able to carry on campus. They probably already do.

The Second Amendment applies to all citizens, not just a few. I think students should be able to carry guns.

My son is junior at Gonzaga. In class? I say no. These young adults were in university owned, off-campus housing defending against an intruder.

Absolutely not. You don't want instances worse than Kent State. Their brains aren't fully developed until years after college.

Are college students U.S. citizens?
