Historic obstruction worse than 'nuclear option': #tellusatoday
We asked our followers on Twitter what they thought of the "nuclear option." Responses have been edited for clarity, length and grammar:
The GOP abused the filibuster to oppose qualified nominations and nullify government departments. Historic obstruction by the GOP is the story here.

This was a purely emotional move on the left's part. They are punishing right for left's failures. This was not thought out very well at all.
— @AndyCaldwell99
Somewhere down the road, the chickens will come home to roost and the Democrats will regret going nuclear.
— @bopahay
This was very fair! Presidential nominees have been filibustered 168 times throughout U.S. history; 86 filibusters were under presidents before President Obama. The remaining 82 were all under Obama. That's not reasonable.
— @KelinSC
This has been extreme GOP obstruction; 51% is a majority.
— @Mark1Taylor2
This makes the left look like crybabies. Payback will hit in 2014.
— @johannaihli
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and President Obama destroyed the Senate as we know it by going nuclear. Obama's legislative agenda is dead in the water.
