No talking on cellphones during flights: #tellusatoday
We asked on Twitter whether people thought rules should be changed to allow passengers to talk on cellphones during flights. Comments edited for clarity and grammar:
I love powering off my cell while flying. It's relaxing. Let's keep it that way. I and others don't need to hear your convo.
—@PlumbbobGreen
Imagine three babies crying at one time, plus rap music played loudly! A flight I wouldn't want to be on.
—@brnnee
I think the ban can be lifted, but some rules about cellphone etiquette need to be imposed.
—@EAJinkens
I personally would not talk on my phone while in flight, and don't think others should either unless they are separated. You know human nature. They will abuse the privilege without rules.
—@armynod
That could potentially be really annoying in such a cramped space. People want to relax on planes, not hear chatter.
—@mfPettis
Yes, the ban should remain, unless they now have a special booth where people can talk as loud as they like.
—@SocialSMktg
Flight attendants should have the ability to confiscate the phone if the passenger is disturbing others.
—@MortBecker
What else is there to do? If you aren't talking on the phone, you will be talking with others. So what's the difference?
—@Moviemagician1
Worst idea ever to lift the ban. I think people would pay extra to be in a #nophonezone.
—@gobuxgal
I dislike the idea, but the European Union has allowed it for a while. It's a good revenue source for airlines.
