Celebrity nude photos, midterm elections: Second look

Keep out of the cloud

If actress Jennifer Lawrence doesn't want her "special" pictures aired for all to see, then she shouldn't have stored them in the cloud ("Reckless to trust cloud storage: #tellusatoday").

We don't raise the blinds and expect no one to wander by and notice what we are doing! She got lots of publicity. Maybe that's what she really wanted.

Objection

Your editorial on the midterm elections forces me to call you out. It says that we have "a government that ... borrows heavily and spends excessively on benefit programs for retirees" ("Why midterm elections matter to you: Our view")

I have been earning my Social Security benefits for 48years and Medicare for as long as the program has been in existence.

I have earned — and paid into — each. I object to the common or implied reference to each as "entitlement" programs; they are entitled only by virtue of working hard and paying for them for a very long time. I am sure many other recipients can say the same.

I agree and fully support your effort to get people to vote, but your words, in this regard, were biased against the retiree demographic.
