White House breach, NFL: Second look

Secret Service succeeds

So what would everyone criticizing the Secret Service be doing now if the homeless veteran who jumped the fence at the White House had been shot on the lawn instead of apprehended inside the doorway? They would have complained about the brutality of it ("No excuse for White House breach: Your Say")!

Despite what are numerous death threats since Barack Obama decided to run for and won the presidency, he and his family have been kept safe due to the talented efforts of these brave men and women who protect them at great sacrifice to their own personal lives.

Abuse bigger than NFL

I am extremely disturbed by the time it took for the NFL to take action against former Baltimore Ravens player Ray Rice.

As a young woman, I wonder if other sports organizations have domestic violence assaults covered up to protect their players' and the league's images. Both the NBA and the NHL are influential in the sports community. The focus right now is almost entirely on NFL players. As basketball and hockey seasons begin and people continue to speak of domestic abuse, other sports leagues will have cases come to light. I hope that with the mistakes of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to learn from, other commissioners take action sooner.
