Punchlines: Chaos between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday

Someone should remind frantic holiday shoppers of the lyrics to that Christmas song made famous in the 1960s: "It's the most wonderful time of the year." Based on the chaos from Thanksgiving Day to Cyber Monday, it's hard to tell where the wonderful has gone. Among other incidents this year, there was a Black Friday sale on beer (which left no survivors warned one comic) and a brawl in a California Walmart between two grown women over a Barbie doll. Police showed up to quell the incident. But one late-night comic suggested that instead of calling the police, the store should have put the two women in time out for childish behavior.

One bright side to the holiday weekend: Christmas preparations at the White House. The Obamas have created the first-ever interactive White House holiday card. According to another comic, the message has an unusual political theme. And the first family's Christmas tree arrived over the weekend. Will it make it through the White House doors? Doesn't everything?
