Paris rally, community college: Second look
Who else is missing?
Besides the blunder our president made by not attending the rally in Paris, who else is missing? One of the few women I saw in the lineup of leaders at the demonstration commemorating the fallen innocents was Angela Merkel. Surely in this day and age, with so many educated, strong women, their absence is pitiful. The presence of more women would bring another needed perspective to the table.

Community colleges
Paste BN's editorial on community colleges was right on ("At community colleges, don't mess with success: Our view").
As a 1969 graduate of Grand Rapids (Mich.) Junior College, I followed my dreams to the University of Michigan and then Purdue. But without a junior college foundation, students like me could easily have fallen through the cracks, both economically and academically. In short, at junior college I could afford the tuition and knew my professors personally. It was a great experience.
I say kudos to our community colleges. They deliver. And, like your editors, I would hate to see Washington embark on yet another "costly program to radically alter a system that works well."
