Will e-mail controversy hurt Clinton? #tellusatoday
Hillary Clinton exclusively used a personal e-mail account for government business when she served as secretary of State, The New York Times reported last week. Letters to the editor:
It is interesting to read "Dems defend Clinton over e-mail account" and how dismissive they want to be over the revelation that Hillary Clinton relied on a private e-mail address as secretary of State.
You can bet that if it were a Republican possible presidential candidate, the Democrats would be the ones hollering the loudest. The difference is that when it is a Republican, the criticism seems to stick; when it is a Democrat — especially a Clinton — it does not. That has been the case time and time again for years.

By using a private e-mail account for government business, especially in her position as secretary of State, did Hillary Clinton let the security and confidentiality of her affairs be at risk of being exposed to other heads of state?
Private e-mails without security measures are vulnerable to being hacked. It would be imprudent not to ensure security.

As scandals go, this one isn't juicy enough to whet the public's appetite. Plus it's too early in the game; it's a long way to November 2016.

I grow tired of all the controversies swirling around the Clintons. I think I will be looking for a candidate and president with a bit more sense and moral compass to stay away from questionable activities.

Everyone should take a breath and do some investigating to see just how many other people on the Hill used their personal e-mails for government business. I doubt she is the only one.

We asked what followers thought about Hillary Clinton using a private e-mail account as secretary of State. Comments from Twitter are edited for clarity and grammar:
She needs to say why she did not use a government e-mail account and specify how many e-mails she did not release.

It is a non-issue. It is just one more way for Republicans to avoid the real concerns facing America.
— @Phillies_Fever
She was a paid employee and should have used a private e-mail account to separate personal vs. official.
— @cindyteatime
I think the Clintons are crooks! What were they trying to hide?
