Celebrities' health stories help others: #tellusatoday
We asked our followers what they thought about celebrities sharing their health decisions and treatment. Comments from Twitter are edited for clarity and grammar:
If they share something that might make someone else go to the doctor and take care of a health issue, then it is good.
— @TerryKershaw1
I wish they'd keep it to themselves as it is not news.
— @DamonEarl
When anyone shares health information, it's for one of two reasons: sympathy or enlightenment for others.

God bless Rita Wilson. The actress recently revealed she had breast cancer and a double masectomy to highlight the importance of second opinions. Doctors told me I didn't have cancer, but they saw strange-looking cells and sent them to Johns Hopkins University to be tested. Doctors there found cancer. I hope Wilson becomes the ambassador for breast cancer awareness because she connects to women as being down to earth.

Is there nothing sacred anymore? It's no one's business what preventive procedures a person takes. I don't care who they are.
— Micah Kazlinowski
A double masectomy is not the answer for many of us with breast cancer. Please don't think you have to follow celebrities' extreme examples to have a good outcome. I wish Wilson the best.
