Train safety
Discussions of the Philadelphia train wreck have brought up the need for train seat belts and an automatic control system that would stop the train if it was going too fast. My sister rode commuter trains from New England to New York City from 1985 to 1995 and says there were seat belts, but people just pushed them aside. So, if seat belts were more widely installed, education would be needed, too. The automatic speed control system is needed now, not the end of the year. Congress needs to start caring about our infrastructure, not just their determination to say, "No taxes."

Get over 'Deflategate'
The clamor over "Deflategate" is deafening, and given far too prominent a place among the daily issues we face. I would suggest to all those who are inconsolable and foaming at the sanctions heaped upon their hero: Stop. Inhale. Redistribute your priorities.

Integrity in the NFL
Roger Goodell, NFL commissioner, would like the public to believe that it is the responsibility of the players, coaches, staff and owners to ensure game integrity.
Doesn't the league hire the officials, train them and direct them? By not securing, measuring and recording the PSI of the game balls, officials and management are the ones responsible for threatening the integrity of the game, not Tom Brady.
