Political donations taint Stephanopoulos: #tellusatoday

ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos apologized to viewers again Sunday for not disclosing $75,000 in donations to the Clinton Foundation. Comments from Facebook are edited for clarity and grammar:

It is difficult to fathom how George Stephanopoulos can objectively cover the 2016 presidential election. He is obviously in the tank for Hillary Clinton.

At the very minimum, ABC News needs to yank him from participating in any political reporting.

— David Neal Dankberg

Stephanopoulos, who anybody with half a brain knows is a longtime Clinton family friend, donated $75,000 to their foundation. Big whoop.

Brett Vredenburg

ABC News executives won't fire or suspend Stephanopoulos. They need him, and they know that the vast majority of Americans don't really care.

Many American news organizations have left the "independent" category and moved either to the right or left. They don't stay in the middle, and this is just another example of it.

Hank Wilson

It is troubling beyond words to see that a top political journalist has hidden major conflicts of interest from viewers, in this case involving the significant relationship Stephanopoulos has with the Clinton Foundation. It is particularly reprehensible because Stephanopoulos waged an attack on the professionalism and credibility of author Peter Schweizer in an effort to discredit and dismiss revelations in Schweizer's book, "Clinton Cash."

Ladislav Din

Brian Williams doesn't look so bad after all. Much worse than fabricating dangers faced while reporting a news story is to be in bed with the Clintons.

Tommy Martin

Stephanopoulos should have been fired immediately!

He crossed the line between honest news and dishonest advocacy.

Clinton Foundation gifts unsurprising

We asked what Twitter followers thought of ABC News' George Stephanopoulos failing to disclose Clinton Foundation donations. Comments are edited for clarity and grammar:

They should've been reported to viewers, but the Clinton Foundation did disclose his donations; it could be worse.

— @BigPapaLintner

George Stephanopoulos should be fired or, at minimum, suspended for a substantial period of time.

@EyeDoc11

Stephanopoulos was a star in the Clinton war room. What do you expect?

@Donnelly525

Stephanopoulos cannot be trusted with anything other than color commentary regarding Hillary Clinton's candidacy.
