NAACP leader's race, integrity questioned: #tellusatoday
We asked Twitter followers about Rachel Dolezal, the NAACP chapter president in Spokane, Wash., accused of lying about her race. She stepped down Monday. Comments are edited for clarity and grammar:
At first, I was offended. Then I thought it was hilarious. Now I'm just disgusted and hurt.

It is really disheartening that someone working for the rights of others could be so dishonest, such a fraud.
— @frankplunkett
She has done a tremendous job for the local NAACP, and her race is irrelevant to her performance.
— @NightclubGenius
Black or white — who cares? But why does one have to lie? That is what disturbs me.
— @LDexec
It's a disgrace if she deceived not only her own race but also the black community. That is not the kind of teacher I want!
— @jerseyshorerose
Dishonesty is dishonesty, and if her race is irrelevant, then why would she feel the need tolie?
— @MrsGoody4shoez
She has shown a willingness to lie and deceive. Her integrity is questionable.
— @scott_kersten
If Caitlyn Jenner is a woman, who are we to deny this woman is black?
