Punchlines: Before the next debate, political quirks

On Wednesday night, at 8 p.m. in Colorado (to be aired on CNBC), candidates will gather once again for a round of likely loud, likely inappropriate political sparring known as the GOP debate.

What specifically should viewers expect to see?  Well if the debate is anything like the week that has led up to it, the candidates will talk about a few quirks that, thus far, have not been the focus of campaign rhetoric. Anyone paying attention has learned that Jeb Bush has an odd attraction to Supergirl (one that brings out his inner accountant, according to Trevor Noah); Ben Carson has a violent past; and Donald Trump considers a $1 million loan from his father in the 1970s a rough start to entrepreneurship.

And what's happening on the Democratic side of the aisle? Seth Meyers and Conan O'Brien explore how Bill Clinton helped his wife celebrate her 68th birthday yesterday (hint: Which Katy Perry song do you think is Bill's favorite?).

Take a look at what the late-night comics had to say about candidate quirks in today's Punchlines video, above.  After you watch our favorite jokes, vote for yours in the quick poll to the right.  Watching from your smartphone or tablet? Then visit opinion.usatoday.com to cast your ballot.
