Donald Trump’s call to ban Muslims deepens divide: Your Say

When Donald Trump first came on the scene, I found him comical. His occasional comments about his rivals created a laugh. Trump is no longer funny. His recent comments about banning Muslims are frightening (“Donald Trump's call for banning Muslims from entering U.S. draws condemnation”).

History has shown us that targeting and segmenting the population leads to catastrophic consequences. Let’s be clear: Trump is talking about targeting people because of their religious beliefs. His ideas are evil and no different from those of Adolf Hitler. The clown is no longer funny.

POLICING THE USA: A look at race, justice, media

I support a complete ban on Muslim refugees from the Middle East until we are as certain as humanly possible that we are not allowing terrorists into our country.

And I would take it one step further: The Department of Homeland Security should begin listening to what is being preached in every mosque, going back at least a year.

If it finds calls for jihad against Americans, then not only should officials arrest that imam for inciting terrorism, but they also should get a search warrant for every individual who attends that particular mosque.

I know this is profiling and contrary to President Obama’s call to resist discrimination, but we are at war with radical Islam, not Southern Baptists or Roman Catholics! Come to think of it, if it were Baptists or Catholics who were committing these atrocities, what do you think Obama would do? Exactly what I am proposing.
