As viewers cut the cord on cable, streaming services have a blockbuster year in 2015.

It’s criminal that Sling TV was not mentioned in the Paste BN tech story “Cutting the cord: Next year will bring even more streaming options.” The online streaming service provides users with ESPN, ESPN2, AMC, A&E, HGTV, TNT and other cable channels for only $20 a month.

For the month I had it, Sling TV was terrible. At $20 per month, it is among the more expensive, and besides the couple of ESPN channels, the offerings were flimsy. Plus it cut out multiple times per hour.

More people should get out of the money pit and switch to Internet-only services. I used to pay over $160 a month for cable, but now I pay just $50 and get everything I want to watch.

I cut the cord this year and watch and stream through Apple TV and Amazon on our smart TV.

The problem with this is folks will make tons of money on up-charges for data. Soon streaming will be as expensive as the cord.

I used Wi-Fi streaming and Roku password sharing with my family. I love not having to pay for satellite TV.

Television is $120 a month for over 300 channels, maybe 20 actually watched. It’s only $20 a month for services such as Hulu and Netflix.
