Is Oregon standoff justified resistance? #tellusatoday

We asked what followers thought of an armed group occupying a federal building in Oregon to cut federal control of Western land. Comments from Twitter are edited for clarity and grammar:

If they were Muslims, they’d be labeled terrorists. If they were black, they’d be dead.

The Feds need to clean up the mess in Washington, D.C., before they stick their noses in our business out West.

These criminals belong in jail. Second Amendment should be a privilege, not a right.

— @RafaAlcalde1

They should be treated as what they are — domestic terrorists.

POLICING THE USA: A look at race, justice, media

Comments from Facebook are edited for clarity and grammar:

I think we will see more of this sort of action as our government continues to ignore the Constitution and President Obama spews out his messages of division and hate. It seems as if every day our freedoms erode, and decent, honest people are sacrificed at the altar of political correctness, socialism and tyranny of the minority.

People are frustrated at the total inability of the federal government to use any common sense and its utter lack of concern for due process of the laws of the land. I do not believe in violence as an answer, but I’m not surprised others are pressed to that decision.

This is a really stupid act over a grievance. The protesters should put down the guns and come fight their issues out in court like the real men they claim to be. This is some really childish and entitled behavior.
