New Hampshire gives clear wins to outsiders: #tellusatoday

We asked what followers thought about Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders winning the New Hampshire primary. Comments from Twitter are edited for clarity and grammar:

Sanders and Trump couldn’t be more different, yet both won, exposing a deep divide in the country.

— @Fiercelawyer

Sanders resonates; Trump just reverberates. The Republicans get votes with fear. Democrats do it with compassion.

— @Bcampbellmn

There’s hope with Trump. With Bernie, we are all going to hell!

— @StullerGretchen

Congrats to New Hampshire voters! They engaged in the process. It is commendable. I may not agree, but I respect them!

— @Porterem

The voters in New Hampshire have told the nation that the two-party system of governing needs a major overhaul.

— @JeffOstach

It tells us that we’re really tired of the insiders — Republicans and Democrats.

POLICING THE USA: A look at race, justice, media

Comments from Facebook are edited for clarity and grammar:

“She’s having problems appealing to young voters, even young women,” Paste BN’s editorial states about Hillary Clinton (“New Hampshire veers outside mainstream: Our view”). She has to solve that problem now, or forget being president.

— Doug Larson

Younger Democratic voters are enthusiastic about Bernie Sanders, but that does not mean they wouldn’t vote for Clinton if she were the nominee.

— Don Reeck

Sanders deserved to win in New Hampshire. From there, it’s all uphill.

— Walter Lampton

Let’s be clear about one thing here. Sanders has set the tone and terms of the issues for the Democratic contest.

Clinton has adopted his platform in moderate form. I have no doubt it will be a battle, but Clinton will not come out stronger because of it. She has peaked.

— John Paul Rice

I hope moderates in this country know better than to vote for Sanders, an avowed democratic socialist. He would take the damage President Obama started to a whole new level.

— Dwayne Landry

New Hampshire has little to do with the rest of the nation.

The state is largely an Anglo, liberal, rural area of the country. Donald Trump won there because of name recognition and nothing else. The same people who know the Kardashians know Trump.

Hopefully, sanity will ensue when we get to more diverse, more populous states.

— Ellen L Kay

It seems to me at this time we really need a president who will be in touch with reality somewhat. That would not be Sanders or Trump.
