The seventh movie in the Star Wars franchise, The Force Awakens, was so anticipated by fans that advanced tickets for the December premiere sold out online in a matter of hours.

But one reader wonders whether the latest addition rises to the level of other films in this storied franchise. Now that the commotion surrounding the much anticipated film has died down, the reader asks, did it live up to the hype?

If overall ticket sales are any indication, the answer is yes. Earlier this month, the movie became the first to hit the $900 million mark domestically, according to The Walt Disney Company, pushing Titanic out of the top spot. What else can indicate movie success?

Reporter Bryan Alexander gives his take on attending the movie’s world premiere in Los Angeles, and experiencing all other kinds of hype firsthand in his response to this Ask Paste BN question.
