Voters’ views outweigh those of world leaders: #tellusatoday
Letters to the editor:
The back page of Thursday’s print edition was no more than a political attack ad for Democrats, bashing Trump (“Another Hitler? How world leaders see Donald Trump”).
The leaders who had negative comments, besides British Prime Minister David Cameron, were nearly all liberals! Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa is a Democratic Socialist for Pete’s sake. What a hack job of reporting! I’m sure you could find an equal number of conservative leaders who would not have flattering things to say about Hillary Clinton. I’m really losing a lot of respect for your paper, and I’m sure I’m not alone. Some non-biased political reporting would be appreciated.

The issue here is not so much Trump himself, as there have always been bombastic, fear-mongering, misogynist bigots running for public office. The bigger concern is that so many Americans support him. For that reason, we should all be very worried for the future of our country.
Jeff Clauser; Charlotte
In response to Paste BN’s article “Another Hitler? How world leaders see Donald Trump”: American voters should decide who our president should be, and not be swayed by the opinions of world leaders.
Fred Gockel; Brenham, Texas
Donald Trump epitomizes “the ugly American,” exhibiting characteristics I had hoped we, as a nation, had begun to distance ourselves from. Those who support his lunacy seem to have lost all sense of reason.
If he were to get elected (God forbid), this country would be thrust into such a state of chaos, it would take decades to recover.

POLICING THE USA: A look at race, justice, media
Comments from Facebook are edited for clarity and grammar:
Yes, the man is a racist. Yes, he’s a misogynist. Yes, he is reminiscent of Adolf Hitler, and that should definitely make him unfit to be president of the United States. But the fact that he isn’t a politician and does not know how to be one should be foremost in every conversation about the man. I admit he is absolutely entertaining, and if he didn’t possess the aforementioned qualities and was slightly qualified for the job, he might even get my vote as I, too, am sick of politicians today.

Maybe the world leaders are not excited about the U.S. having a president who won’t bow down to every leader in the world. Sorry, it’s time to fix and put America and Americans first.

Republicans aren’t anti-immigrant or anti-Muslim. We are anti-illegal immigration and anti-terrorist. Liberals are too ignorant to know the difference.

Thursday’s GOP debate was the last one before key contests in Florida, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina and Ohio on Tuesday.
Marco Rubio clearly had a better command of each of the policy issues. Glad to see the issues debated.
— @Haggardpoet
My favorite debate so far. The candidates did great. Ted Cruz won, followed closely by Rubio.
— @trialattorney12
Donald Trump was only combative in earlier debates because he was attacked in them. He is a respected businessman.
— @peggy980
It was a more grown-up debate from them this time, but one doesn’t make up for all the others.
