Sanders stubbornness and Kasich departure: Second look

Letter to the editor:

With Ted Cruz and John Kasich out of the Republican presidential race, I had hoped that Bernie Sanders would have gracefully bowed out as well. After all, his chances of getting enough delegates to win the Democratic nomination are slim to none. And his excuses to remain are merely asinine.

It’s time for him to help unite the Democratic Party by showing his support for Hillary Clinton. Instead, Sanders remains adamant and a sore loser.

Letter to the editor:

I have always been moderately conservative. Kasich’s absence from the nomination process leaves me with no one to support.

To say we deserve the government we get does not suggest how to get more competent government. President of the U.S. is a very difficult and complicated job. Donald Trump has demonstrated he would do very stupid things. Clinton would bring deceit and unworkable socialist policies. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would continue to block any thing that Clinton would try to do.

We the people end up with a dysfunctional government, which we deserve because we are stupid, lazy or both.
