London is still open for business: Your Say
Americans should continue to invest in the city.
Letter to the editor:
London has a reputation across America as the most open and dynamic economy in Europe — a thriving city economy built on hundreds of years of international commerce.
While it would be foolish to pretend that the vote to leave the European Union will not create an amount of political and economic uncertainty, it is worth reminding ourselves that the United Kingdom has not left the EU, that London’s fundamental strengths remain in place, and that London remains open for business.
London is open for the tens of thousands of U.S. citizens, companies and students who choose to live, work and study here. America is a pivotal driver of the London economy.
I am married to an American and am determined to do all I can to ensure that London continues to welcome all U.S. citizens. Working alongside the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, we'll do all we can to build even stronger trans-Atlantic alliances to ensure that London remains open and welcoming for Americans for hundreds of years to come.
